NoChella: How I still slayed without the crowd
With Coachella looks and clips of Beyonce's dope performance flooding our timelines, I couldn't help but to feel left out. Festival season is here and although I love indulging in the thrill and entertainment of a concert, huge festivals like Coachella aren't my thing. The large crowd, heat and the invasion of personal space is not appealing to me.
The older I get (and by older I mean 26 — 27 on May 9 #ShamelessPlug), the more I enjoy my space and comfort. I went to my first festival last year, and although I got to see some of my favorite artists, my feet were hurting, I was hot, I was pushed around and had to stand on my toes to see them. I wished I could just disappear but I paid a pretty penny, so I endured and vowed to never torture myself again.
Being me, I still wanted to create a festival inspired look and join in on the fun. I was in Palm Springs for this shoot so it was fitting.
I have been making a conscious effort to not wear black and show you guys how I have fun with color, prints and textures. I love, love high waisted wide leg pants; they are perfect for elongating your legs and to give you the perfect hour glass shape. These particular striped wide leg pants are from Forever21 with an adjustable waist line and belt. I paired them with a cropped graphic tee, also from Forever21, that had a tropical feel and color pallet. This crop top is perfect for the spring and can be styled with jeans or shorts. It has an unfinished hem at the neckline and the bottom adding a little edge.
For accessories, I styled this look with my new favorite yellow frame sunnies from H&M for only $3. I must say they make me feel pretty cool. They are so fun for the spring and make a statement with any look. I have been loving colored frames; I even picked up a green and red pair.
Another one of my favorites for the spring is my fringe bag because everything looks better with fringe. It's the perfect size and perfect for holding my essentials. I so wish I could tell you where I got this fun hat, but I borrowed it from a friend and it matched perfectly.
Am I the only one who is okay with watching Coachella from the comfort of their home?!
If you do like festivals, which ones are you going to this year?
