Step Out

The mule shoe dates back to the 16th century, normally with a closed toe and platform. With the help of the fearless Marilyn Monroe, it was given life again in the 18th century and it has since been seen in many different colors, materials and heights. I know we have all seen the leather/fur Gucci mule flats that can set you back $955. And with their effortless style and comfort, they have become the Spring 2017 shoe of choice. I have always secretly admired this shoe but was always nervous to give it a try. For one, I have flat feet so I have to be selective about what shoe I put on. Also, I wasn't so sure about not having any back support. Ya girl like to feel secure lol. I know I know, I am being ridiculous. So I stepped into DSW; this is literally my go to shoe store! They always have great deals and a wide range of selection from sporty sneakers to nighttime heels. I did my quick browse in the front aisle, but you know I was only there for the clearance. I instantly spotted these Aldo black suede mules with a gold heel and for 50% off. The price and fit were perfect. They had to be mine and now they have become a staple in my wardrobe.

I say all this to say, don't be afraid to try new things. Food, clothes, hairstyles, or lip color. You would be surprised to see what you have been missing out on. I paired these effortless and comfortable mules with a breezy transparent top from H&M and high waist distressed jeans also from H&M, which kinda give me mom jean vibes. The jeans also feature a frayed cut off ankle detail, which is very trendy right now. These jeans will be a spring staple for me and transition well into the cooler climates paired with booties. I hope you love how I styled this look and this won't be the only time you will see my flat feet strutting in these mules. What shoes are you secretly obsessing over for the spring but are scared to try?
